don’t egg me first okay? i have an explanation for this super slow update.
i have currently translated up to chapter 15, and i was rereading my translated chapters from the top before i realized something important.
firstly, the chinese language doesn’t have present or past tense. so… i found myself jumping from past to present very often while translating this fic, and it was annoying to read. i read the other versions and they translated the fic in past tense, but i decided to switch mine to present tense.
reason being in the chinese version, kris wasn’t recounting the story of what happened during the entire 48 hours, he was telling the story according to what he is experiencing right at that very moment.
hence, i think it’s better to translate it in present tense because it gives you a more “real” experience, like you’re really immersed in the story based on Kris’s point of view at that very time when everything is happening, instead of reading an account of what has happened.
so yeah, i made changes on the tenses and i found it much more exciting and real to read as compared to my previous jumbled-up-tenses version. so from chapter 5 onwards, it’ll be translated in this way until the very end.
if you missed the update reblog, here it is. and i hope you enjoy it lsdkfj \o/
